Ocarina of Time is a great game EXCEPT for the fact that the story deals with the idea that “Young Link isn’t old enough to be the hero of time” by locking him in stasis while allowing his body to continue to age.
The Master Sword really said “Nah, you need to be taller.” and then did nothing to actually grow Link’s mind beyond that of a 10 year old.
And then Majora’s Mask happens A FEW MONTHS AFTER OCARINA OF TIME and suddenly “nah, we already traumatized this kid, let’s send him to a world that is going to die in three days with some of the most fucked up horror scenarios ever and see what happens next.”
I propose a FOURTH Zelda timeline split because of this.
I like to call it the “Gerudo find Link and scream in horror over what the absolute fuck the ‘good prophecies’ did to this child. Then adopt him and run away to a different land far away from the bullshit Magic of Hyrule nonsense” Timeline.
Link gets therapy in this timeline and becomes a baker.
